Tourists Can Report Counterfeit Handicrafts: Dept

   

SRINAGAR: The Handicrafts and Handloom Department, Kashmir, has urged tourists to report counterfeit machine-made items sold under the guise of Kashmir Handicrafts. Business establishments and traders found guilty of such practices will face strict action under the Quality Control Act, 1976.

In an advisory, the department directed tourists and buyers to register complaints if they suspect counterfeit sales. Complaints can be lodged via email at dir.handicraft@jk.gov.in or by calling 0194-2472065.

The department warned that selling fake handicrafts could lead to penalties, seizure of goods, cancellation of registration, and blacklisting. All traders dealing in Kashmir Handicrafts have been instructed to ensure authenticity in their sales.
