Irked over banning of two cross LoC trading firms, Cross LoC Traders Association in Poonch decided to suspend the trade to mark their protest.

“This was our decision after the authorities decided to ban two firms,” said a trader. He said they are demanding revocation of the notice which was issued by the authorities last week.

The trader added that it was a wrong decision of administration and it must be revoked. Security agencies have found rusted AK rounds or in live form many a time from the consignment of many traders but banning only two firms is not fair. They added.

“We did not want to compromise with security issue but as per SOP after brief scrutiny of goods imported from Pakistan Administered Kashmir, authorities have to hand over the goods to traders. The authorities overruled SOP,” they said.

Pawan Anand President Traders Association said that it was decision of the traders and he has not asked anyone to abstain from trade. He said traders are concerned with the issue that’s why they have taken the decision.
