An on-duty traffic police constable was killed on Friday when a speeding truck on Jammu- Srinagar highway in Udampur District hit him, said the Police.
“One @Traffic_hqrs cop succumbed to injuries after being seriously injured by a speeding truck at Thanda Padder, on NHW Bypass,” police said, in a tweet.
Police official identified deceased as a Special police officer (SPO) Nazir Ahmad resident of Udhampur.
He said that the truck has been seized and its driver arrested.
