Traffic Curbs in Shopian Ahead of Lt Governor Manoj Sinha’s Visit

   

SRINAGAR: Traffic Police Rural Kashmir has issued an advisory announcing temporary traffic diversions and movement restrictions in Shopian district in view of the visit of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Thursday.

According to the advisory, vehicular movement between DPL Crossing Shopian and District Court Crossing (Four-Way Chowk) will remain regulated and partially restricted from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM on May 14.

The restrictions have been put in place in connection with the Lieutenant Governor’s scheduled visit for the inauguration of the Indoor Sports Stadium at Aarhama and the South Kashmir Volleyball League.

Motorists have been advised to avoid unnecessary travel along the affected stretch during the specified hours to ensure smooth traffic management and security arrangements.

Under the diversion plan, vehicles coming from Poonch and Rajouri towards Pulwama and Srinagar will be rerouted via Old Bus Stand, Tak Mohalla, Sangloo, Habdipora, Pinjura and Trenz.

Likewise, traffic from Srinagar and Pulwama towards Shopian, Poonch and Rajouri will be diverted through Keegam, Mispora, Udoora, Trenz, Pinjura, Habdipora and Sangloo via Kanipora towards Herpora.

The advisory further stated that vehicles operating between Shadab Karewa, Zawoora, Manloo, Narpora and Pulwama should use the Kralchak–Rajpora–Tiken route in both directions.

Traffic Police Rural Kashmir has appealed to the public to extend cooperation and adhere to the advisory to ensure orderly movement and effective traffic regulation during the high-profile visit.
