The Inspector General of Police Traffic, J&K, has informed the public in general and motorists in particular that Traffic Police has introduced an Android Software “JK Traffic Police NHW” which can be downloaded for free from Google Play Store/Android market. The Software which has been developed for Traffic NHW Ramban will provide regular Highway status updates, general do’s & don’ts for drivers and other road users, Contact numbers of the Police, vulnerable areas/interims of accident prone areas etc.
As per a statement the IGP has further said that Traffic Police National Highway has also introduced Close User Group (CUG) system–public outreach, Toll Free No. 18001807043, for quick response. He said 20 vehicles of Traffic National Highway have been fitted with “Hi-Tech GPS Tracking Devices.”
He also said under the public outreach campaign, feedback window to seek feedback regarding the working of Traffic Police NHW and suggestions, inputs to improve the working of Traffic Police will also be available.
