SRINAGAR: Traffic movement along parts of Srinagar’s Boulevard Road and adjoining routes will be restricted for three hours on Sunday, September 27, in view of the JK Police Cycle Race-2026, Srinagar Traffic Police said on Friday.
According to the traffic advisory, the Boulevard Road from Lalit Ghat to Pandach will remain closed to general traffic from 6 am to 9 am to facilitate the movement of cyclists. The race will be conducted along the Lalit Ghat Chowk-Foreshore Road-Lalit Ghat-Harwan route via Shalimar.
Traffic movement from Lalit Ghat towards Harwan via Shalimar, and from Lalit Ghat towards Pandach Crossing via Zakoora, has been advised against during the restricted period.
Motorists travelling from Harwan and New Theed towards Srinagar and in the opposite direction have been advised to use the Burzahama-Chandpora-Tailbal-Zakoora-Malbagh-Illahibagh-90 Feet Road route.
Those travelling from Ganderbal and Nagbal towards Lal Chowk have been advised to use the 90 Feet Soura Road and the same route in the reverse direction.
Traffic from R.M. Bagh Crossing towards Lalit will not be permitted, except for race participants.
The advisory also states that vehicles will not be allowed from Badyari towards Lalit Crossing. Movement from Dalgate towards Nishat through Badyari and Rainawari will also be restricted, while traffic from Nishat towards Lal Chowk through Brien Police Station Crossing will not be permitted.
Traffic Police has asked motorists and residents to avoid unnecessary travel on the affected sections, particularly between 6 am and 9 am.
Vehicles carrying patients in medical emergencies and those travelling to Srinagar Airport will, however, be permitted to use the Foreshore-Dargah-Khanyar Road.
The Traffic Police said commuters requiring assistance could contact the Traffic Police Control Room on helpline number 103.
