Traffic Restrictions Announced in Srinagar Ahead of IFFJK inauguration

   

SRINAGAR: Traffic Police has announced restrictions and diversions in parts of Srinagar on Monday ahead of the inauguration of the first International Film Festival of Jammu Kashmir (IFFJK) at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Convention Centre (SKICC), with increased traffic movement towards the venue expected after 4 pm.

SSP Traffic City Srinagar Aijaz Ahmad Bhat said Gupkar Road would remain restricted to general traffic from 4 pm to 7 pm. Entry during the period will be permitted only to invitees, festival participants, VVIPs and event staff.

Traffic approaching SKICC and Nehru Park from Badyari Chowk and Brein Chowk will also be restricted, except for hotel guests and local residents. Other vehicles travelling towards Nishat will be diverted through Gupkar and Hazratbal, Bhat said.

Vehicles approaching from the Nishat and Harwan side will likewise be diverted towards Hazratbal.

The restrictions and diversions will remain in place from 4 pm to 7 pm, or until the inauguration function concludes, whichever is later.

Traffic Police has advised commuters to plan their journeys accordingly and cooperate with personnel deployed in the area to facilitate smooth movement during the event.
