Train service was resumed in the Kashmir valley on Wednesday after remaining suspended on Tuesday after the resistance leadership had called for a complete shutdown against the killing of militants and civilian in Drubgam area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

We have resumed the train service on all routes in the Kashmir valley today, a senior railway official said.

He said train will chug as per schedule on Budgam-Srinagar-Islamabad-Qazigund in south Kashmir to Banihal in Jammu region. Similarly, trains will also run on Srinagar-Budgam in central Kashmir to Baramulla in the north, he said.

Last year train service was suspended for over 50 times in the valley for security reasons.
