Train services in Kashmir have been resumed on Saturday after two days of continue suspension for security reasons, a senior railway official said.

A senior railway official told Kashmir Life that train service was resumed this morning in the valley.

A fresh advisory was received from police to resume the train service after remaining suspended for two days for security reasons. Therefore, he said, trains will run as per schedule on Budgam-Srinagar-Islamabad-Qazigund in south Kashmir and Banihal in Jammu region today.

Similarly, trains will also chug on Srinagar-Budgam and Baramulla in north Kashmir, he added.

Train service was suspended on Thursday in the valley following the killing of a civilian during Cordon and search operation (CASO) in Noorbagh, killing of three militants and a soldier in two separate incidents.

The Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL), comprising Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, and Mohammad Yasin Malik had called a strike on Friday against killings in south Kashmir.
