Srinagar-Banihal train service was resumed on Thursday after remaining suspended for security reasons for four days in the Kashmir valley, where Joint Resistance Leadership had called for a two-day strike from Monday followed by “Shopian Chalo” to express solidarity with the families of those killed in Sunday violence.
Four civilians were killed in south Kashmir and another in Ganderbal in the central valley, and over 100 others were injured in government forces action. Clashes were reported from many areas of Kashmir after the killing of 13 militants in Sunday violence.
Three troopers were also killed and several others wounded in the encounters in south Kashmir.
An official said that train service resumed on today, after remaining suspended for security reasons in the Kashmir valley since Monday.
