Train service was resumed in the Kashmir valley on Saturday after remaining suspended on Friday for security reasons.
A senior railway official told Kashmir Life that train service was resumed this morning in the valley.
A fresh advisory was received from police to resume the train service after remaining suspended for a day across Kashmir for security reasons.
Therefore, he said, trains will run as per schedule on Budgam-Srinagar-Islamabad-Qazigund in south Kashmir and Banihal in Jammu region today.
Similarly, trains will also chug on Srinagar-Budgam and Baramulla in north Kashmir, he added.
Last year train service remained suspended for 50 times partially or fully in the valley.
