The train service was resumed on Monday on Srinagar Banihal track after two days of suspension for security reasons.

The service was suspended following the killing of militant in Achabal area of South Kashmir’s Islamabad district.

“All trains are running in Kashmir valley today on all routes as per schedule,” a railway official told Kashmir Life.

He said train service on Budgam-Srinagar-Islamabad-Qazigung in south Kashmir to Banihal in Jammu region resumed on Monday after remaining suspended for about two days for “security reasons”.

“We are acting on the advice of local administration and police who are taking a decision keeping in view the security situation in the valley,” he said.
