Train services were suspended for “security reasons” in the Kashmir valley following the killing of a civilian and four militants in a gunfight with the army and Police in Srigufwara village of south Kashmir’s Islamabad district in the wee hours on Friday.
“We have again suspended train service in the Kashmir valley following a fresh directive from police,” a senior railway official told Kashmir Life.
Therefore, he said, no train will chug on Srinagar-Budgam in central Kashmir to Baramulla in the north.
Similarly, all trains will remain suspended on Srinagar-Islamabad-Qazigund in south Kashmir with Banihal in Jammu, he added.
