In view of the strike call by Joint Resistance Leadership against tinkering with Article 35A, the authorities have the suspended train services across Kashmir.

“We have suspended train service in the Kashmir valley for two days following a fresh directive from police,” a senior railway official told Kashmir Life.

Therefore, he said, no train will chug on Srinagar-Budgam in central Kashmir to Baramulla in the north.

Similarly, all trains will remain suspended on Srinagar-Islamabad-Qazigund in south Kashmir with Banihal in Jammu, he added.

He said this was the first time in the month of August that train services has been suspended in the valley.

The Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL), comprising of Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umer Farooq, and Muhammad Yasin Malik has called for a complete shutdown on Sunday and Monday across Kashmir.
