Train services were suspended in south Kashmir following the killing of a civilian in Nowpora village of Kulgam district late Monday evening.

A youth identified as Ajaz Ahmad Bhat was killed and another youth, Rayees Ahmad was injured in firing by the Army soldiers in Nowpora Akhran area of Kulgam district on Monday.

“We have suspended train services in South Kashmir for security reasons,” a railway official said.

However, trains continued to chug on Srinagar-Budgam in central Kashmir to Baramulla in north Kashmir as per schedule, officials said.
