One of the army man who was injured on Tuesday during a gunfight between militants and the government forces in Laam village of Tral in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district succumbed to his injuries.
The deceased identified as Ajay Kumar was injured during a gunfight, he was later shifted to 92 Base Hospital in Srinagar for the treatment, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The exchange of fire started on Tuesday morning at Laam forest area in Tral town of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
A joint team of 42RR and Special Operations Group of Jammu and Kashmir police cordoned off the forest area of Goitango in Laam village of Tral after receiving specific inputs about the presence of militants in the area.
The said as the searches were intensified, the hiding militants fired upon the forces triggering an encounter.
