Two militants have been killed so far during an ongoing gunfight with government forces at Midoora area of Tral in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Reports said that the house in which the militants were hiding has been set on fire, the official confirmed the killing of two militants but the bodies are yet to be retrieved from the spot. The gunfight started on this afternoon after a joint team of 42RR, SOG and 180 BN CRPF launched cordon and search operation in the Mandoora area on specific information about the presence of some militants.
As the joint team of forces intensified searches towards suspected spot the hiding militants fired upon government forces triggering an encounter. the village was cordoned off following an attack on an army camp, however, no damage was reported from the incident.
Earlier in a day, clashes were also reported from the village. Meanwhile, the encounter in the village is going on.
