The three militants and a teenage civilian who were killed yesterday afternoon at the hands of forces in Tral area in Pulwama district were laid to rest with thousands attending their “multiple funeral prayers”.

The slain militants include Zahid Ahmad Bhat from Nawdal, Tral; Ishaq Ahmed from Batgund, Tral and Muhammad Ashraf Dar from Trich, Pulwama and a civilian Muhammad Younus, aged 17.

Local sources said that except Zahid whose last rites were performed today, the three slain were laid to rest late last evening.

Zahid was laid to rest after thousands of people participated in his funeral prayers.

Witness said that thousands of people participated in the funeral prayers of Ashraf at Baghi Trich, Pulwama and he was laid to rest amid pro-freedom and anti-India slogans late Wednesday evening.

Thousands of people also participated in the funeral prayers of Ishaq of Batagund and a 17 years old Younis Sheikh of Saimoh Tral at their villages, witnesses said.

All the slain were laid to rest amid pro-freedom and anti-India slogans. Witnesses said that a few militants appeared in the funeral prayers of Ishaq and offered gun salute to their colleague.
