Jamaat-e-Islami (JeI) J&K Sunday alleged that RSS in order to implement its hidden agenda in the Muslim-dominated Jammu and Kashmir has become active in the Jammu province and in order to achieve its ‘sinister goal’ has started to replace the impartial and Muslim bureaucrats by the staunch Hindu officers in a phased manner which has created a great concern among the Muslim population in the region.
In a statement to KNS JeI said, “It seems that the Jammu province has been given absolutely in the control of the BJP – a coalition partner in the present state regime so as to give it a chance to implement its long-pending agenda of doing away with the Muslim-majority status of the state. Two chief Engineers of the divisional level in Jammu heading R&B and Electrical Maintenance departments (both Muslims) have been attached and replaced by two staunch Hindu officers and such type of transfers are taking place from the secretariat to the district and even tehsil levels. In the revenue department, a number of such type of transfers have also taken place and most of the Muslim employees have been shifted and replaced by the Hindus in order to facilitate the issuance of the PR certificates to the non-state residents in the Jammu province.”
“In the state secretariat most of the high positions are being commanded by non-Muslim bureaucrats who frame the policies for the Muslim-dominated state. The people at the helm of affairs have always shown least concern for such type of grave issues for the fear of being dethroned and the people here have been witnessing this type of attitude since 1947. The policies for Jammu province are being framed at RSS headquarters Nagpur and the local government through its BJP partner is only a tool to implement these policies. One more step taken to make Hindu-dominated parts of Jammu Muslim-free areas is to dislodge the poor Muslims living on the peripheries in the name of vacating the forest land from the illegal occupation,” he alleged. “Only Muslims are forced to vacate such lands and their lodgements are being demolished immediately after their eviction whereas the Hindus living in the same areas are not even touched by these champions of “protection of forests”. The present regime seems to have surrendered its authority to its BJP partner in the Jammu province.”
On revocation of AFSPA, he said, the BJP has clearly indicated that it will not support its revocation but at the same time “pressurize the government to allot land for settlement of secured Pandit colonies in Kashmir.”
“Instead of framing the schemes for the development of the people, the BJP is bent upon to cause damage to the majority population of the state in all the spheres of life, the main target being to do away with Islamic identification of Muslims and Muslim majority status of the state. Jama’at-e-Islami J&K cautions all the people who want to retain and protect the environment of peaceful co-existence of different communities against the vicious designs of RSS-BJP parivar and appeals them to unite for defeating these communal policies framed by Hindutva forces. Further Jamaat stresses upon the Muslims to remain firmly attached as the loyal servants of the Almighty with Islamic ethos and teachings and proactively propagate the same and not to be swayed away by the false and baseless propaganda against the true divine religion of Islam by the deviated people,” the statement concluded.
