First ever laparoscopic surgery was performed at Trauma Hospital Kangan in central Kashmir’s area of Ganderbal district on Tuesday.
The spokesman in a statement said that the Laparoscopic cholecystectomy was performed on a 30-year-old female patient today by the surgical unit of the hospital. The operative team under the supervision and logistical support from Hospital Administrator included Dr Feroze Khan, Consultant Surgeon, Dr Abid Sofi, Dr Arshiya, Dr Faheem (Anaesthetists), Farooq Ahmad Rather, Sheikh Gowhar, Sheikh Hilal, Showket Magray, Mohd Yaqoob, Amina & Mushtaq Sheikh (OT Staff).
Pertinently it’s to mention that Diagnostic Endoscopy has been started as well in the hospital, a spokesman added.
Director Health Services, Kashmir Dr Saleem ur Rehman has complimented the hospital Administrator Dr Yasmeen Kango and the operative team for achieving this feat.
