Kashmir valley was shook by a moderate intensity earthquake occurred at 3.40am Tuesday.

The epicentre of earthquake recorded 5.5 on the Richter scale was, as per the MeT department, in Hindukush mountain range of Afghanistan.

The tremors were felt shortly after pre-dawn meals. No loss of life or property was reported.

Valley having a history of devastating earthquakes is, as per geologists, situated on a highly quake vulnerable fault line.
