An army trooper was arrested by police in Mendhar area of Poonch district over cheating people in the name of jobs.
A police officer told Srinagar-based news agency GNS that Hawaldar Muhammad Aasif, son of Abdul Hussain, who is posted in army’s Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry (JAKLI) at Pathankote in Punjab, was arrested by police following a complaint was registered against over cheating people in the name of jobs.
The complaint was lodged at police post Balakote and subsequently a case under FIR number 97/2015 under sections 240, 467, 468, 471 was registered at police station Mendhar, the official said.
The police, based on the complaint, started probe against the trooper and it found that the said person was taking money from people after promising them government jobs. The police also found a fake order of railway from his possession.
Meanwhile, the Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Mendhar, Shahid Nayeem confirmed the arrest of the trooper and said that he was cheating people in the name of employment.
