SRINAGAR: In a tragic accident at Chandigarh, two daughters of Chief Judicial Magistrate Reasi Syed Adnan died in a road accident.
According to reports after completing all legal formalities, the bodies were taken to their native village in the Surankote area of Poonch for last rites. The judge is the son of National Conference leader, Qazi Syed. His wife is the sister of Aijaz Jan, another NC leader from Poonch.
Their judge father was readying to send them for further studies that the fate decided otherwise. One of the two girls was supposed to join the medical school in Bangladesh and the other one was trying to join a law school in Melbourne, Australia. The girls were in Chandigarh where one of them had to sit in an examination for her studies abroad. Interestingly, one report said that there were two other girls in the backseat of the car. They miraculously survived the accident.
The four girls including two sisters and their friends had left Jammu – they lived in Bathindi, in an SUV and their vehicle met an accident in Chandigarh at around 6 pm on Monday. the family got the information at 9 pm and they drove for the entire night to reach Chandigarh where they collected the two bodies. The SUV was being driven by a driver.
The two sisters were identified as Zava Adnan and Aqsa Adnan.
The judge, reports not confirmed by the family said, is having a minor son, who is yet to pass his matriculation. As the bodies reached Poonch, a pall of gloom descended down the belt and thousands have joined the mourning, reports said.
While expressing shock over the accident National Conference Vice President Omar Abdullah tweeted, “My heartfelt condolences to my colleague @ajazjan. Two of his nieces died in a tragic road accident earlier today. Allah marhoom ko magfirat farmaye. May the young ladies find place in Jannat & may their families find strength at this difficult time.”
