At least two army men were injured on Monday at Panar forest area of North Kashmir’s Bandipora District.

Official sources said that two army men were injured during encounter with militants on third day of anti militants operation.

The fresh gunfire broke out today in the morning when the army’s 14 RR along with the additional reinforcement has intensified the combing operation in the dense forests to trace out the hiding militants.

On Saturday evening, the officer had said that army’s 14 RR cordoned off panar forest area following the suspicious movement.

As such the forces launched the cordon, militants hiding in the area opened fire upon them triggering off a brief exchange of gunfire, he had said.

The operation is still in progress.
