Two Army Personnel Injured in Accidental Mine Blast Along LoC

   

SRINAGAR: Two Army personnel were injured in an accidental mine blast along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Uri sector of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Tuesday, officials said.

The blast took place in the forward area of Kamalkote while the Army personnel were on duty, officials said.

The injured were evacuated from the site and airlifted to the Army’s Base Hospital at Badamibagh in Srinagar for specialised treatment.

They were identified as Dafadar Vijay Kumar, 42, and Naik Sharanapa Angari, 28, both posted with the 8 Rashtriya Rifles.

Officials said the circumstances surrounding the blast are being ascertained. Further details are awaited.(GNS)
