Two Arrested, Two Minor Girls Rescued in Kashmir Human Trafficking Case, Police Say

   

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday said that it arrested two people besides rescued two minor girls in a human trafficking Racket case in Ushkara village of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

“During further investigation of case FIR No. 173/2024 under relevant sections of law registered in PS Baramulla, it was found that one Ghulam Mohammad Khan, son of Abdul Rehman, resident of Narbal and Manzoor Ahmad Shah son of Gulam Mohammad resident of Janbazpora, were also involved in the trafficking and exploitation of minor girls from outside the UT,” an Police spokesperson said in a statement.

He said that a police party of Police Station Baramulla headed by SHO PS Baramulla, under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Baramulla, arrested the accuseds, who were shifted to Police Station Baramulla, and further recovered three minor victim girls, who are from Rohingya, Burma.

Pertinent to mention that two accused’s from Baramulla were arrested and four minor females were rescued during the initial investigation of the case.

“This operation demonstrates the commitment of the Baramulla Police to combating human trafficking and ensuring the safety and dignity of vulnerable individuals,” the police said.
