SRINAGAR: Two individuals were apprehended with a significant ninety kilograms of poppy straw in the Pahalgam area of Anantnag district, an official stated on Tuesday.
The official said that based on reliable information, the police established a checkpoint where they intercepted a pair in possession of ninety kilograms of poppy straw.
“Identifying the individuals as Aijaz Ahmad Bhat, son of Mohammad Jabbar Bhat, and Ubaid Gulzar Lone, son of Gulzar Ahmad Lone, both residents of Takiyabal Bijbehara, the official further mentioned that a case under FIR number 8/24, Section 8/15 of the NDPS Act, has been registered at the Police Station Pahalgam for further proceeding,” officials said.
