SRINAGAR: Four persons were rescued while one remained missing after two boats capsized amid strong winds in Dal Lake in central Kashmir’s Srinagar district on Friday.
Officials said that the incident occurred when strong winds overturned two boats in the lake. In a prompt response, the Quick Response Team (QRT), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), and Fire and Emergency Services rescued four persons.
However, one individual, identified as Tawfeeq Ahmad Chopan, son of Nikka and a resident of Jogi Lanker Rainawari, was reported missing.
Efforts to locate the missing person were underway. However, due to darkness, the rescue operation was temporarily suspended and will resume at first light tomorrow. (GNS)
