The woman who was one of the two persons injured in the dramatic Pulwama shootout may have a deep arm injury though she is out of danger, police said. The town witnessed serious disturbances over the brief fire exchange between militants and Special Operations Group (SOG).

Reports reaching from Pulawama said the cops were working on an input that militants were around in bus stand. As the raid was carried out, there was fire exchange in which two persons were injured. Police said the fire came from some militants who were in a Sumo.

In the post-shootout action, SOG started scanning the people around and detected a suspiciously burqa clad “woman” around. Once in police net, “she” turned out to be a man, who was later identified as Tariq, a resident of a neighbouring Darch village. Police said he is an over-ground worker of militants.

Police identified the injured duo as Reyaz Ahmad and Mrs Rehti, both residents of Arihal village. However, a police officer said the injured woman has received a bullet in her arm and might have a “serious” injury as she was profusely bleeding indicating her vein might be cut by the bullet. She is being shifted to Srinagar for treatment.
