Two cops were injured on Friday after a gunfight broke out between the government forces and militants in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar district.

Reports said that a joint of forces launched a cordon and search operation in Marwah area of the district after receiving inputs about the presence of militants.

As the forces party approached to the spot hiding militants opened fire on the police party, triggering an encounter. Reports also said that two cops were also injured in the initial firing.

The firing from both sides was going on when this report was filled.
