Two daylong seminar on “Palliative Care & Nursing Perspectives” started Friday in Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences here.

The seminar is being organized by the department of Nursing administration SKIMS in collaboration with Pain and Palliative Care Regional Cancer in the auditorium of tertiary care institute of Kashmir.

Speaking on the occasion director SKIMS, Dr Showkat Ahmad Zargar hailed the commitment of the staff of Pain & Palliative care & Nursing administration and lauded them for their exemplary work for helping terminally ill patients in pain management. “SKIMS has achieved tremendous success in pain management which can be gauged from the satisfaction of the patients who personally visited me expressing their gratitude.”

Chief Organizer & Nursing Superintendent SKIMS in her inaugural address welcomed guests and appreciated their presence. “185 delegates have registered for the event and the deliberations on pain & palliative care during the event will be useful and will help to understand in depth the nursing perspectives in pain management.”

Dean Medical Faculty Dr. Gul Javid, Medical Superintendent SKIMS Dr. Farooq Jan and HOD Pain & Palliative Care SKIMS Dr. Ashraf Teli also spoke on the occasion.

The seminar was also attended by the medical and nursing faculty of SKIMS besides associated staff of associated hospitals and students.
