SRINAGAR: Two DDC constituencies of Ganderbal district are going to vote in the first phase of the District Development Council (DDC) and panchayat by-polls on November 28.

An official told Kashmir Life, that in this phase a total of 20895 voters will exercise their right to vote in twin DDC constituencies of Gund -A and Gund-B for which 127 polling booths have been set up.
“In 20895 voters 10966 are male voters while as 9929 are female voters,” he said.
In this phase, the fate of 93 candidates backed by different political parties will be decided by voters.

Deputy Election Officer Ganderbal said that a total of 93 candidates are in the fray for DDC and by-election for the vacant Sarpanch and Panch seats in Gund-A and Gund-B.
“Out of 93 candidates, 10 candidates are contesting for DDC, 21 for Sarpanch which includes 19 male and two female candidates and 62 for Panch seats which include 51 male and 11 female candidates,” he said.

“The voting will start at 7 Am and will conclude at 2 Pm,” he added.
