Two persons were killed and another injured when a vehicle they were travelling in skidded off the road and fell into a gorge on Kupwara-Tangdar road near Sadna Top in Chowkibal area of Kupwara district in northern part of Kashmir.
The accident took place around 1 am today.
Local sources said an Alto car bearing registration number JK09A-4737 was on way to Karnah from Kupwara. It met an accident near Sadna top resulting in on the spot death of two persons and injuries to another.
The injured was rushed to Kralpora hospital, where from he was shifted to a Srinagar hospital for specialised treatment.
The deceased were identified as Syed Khadim Hussain son of Gh Sarvar Shah 31, and Syed Iftikhar Hussain son of Syed Fazal Hussain Shah 32, both residents of Chamkot Karnah and injured was identified as Syed Fasil son of Zameer Ahmad Shah 26, a resident of Kandi karnah.
