SRINAGAR: Police in Budgam arrested two drug peddlers and recovered contraband substances from their possession.
A police party from Police Station Charar-i-Sharief, during a checkpoint established near the Sports Stadium Charar-i-Sharief, intercepted a vehicle (Load Carrier) bearing registration number JK01AS-9968 for routine checking. Upon searching the vehicle, heroin-like substances in two separate paper rolls, weighing approximately 12 grams, were recovered.
The individuals have been identified as Imran Ahmad Qasba, son of Nazir Ahmad Qasba, a resident of Mehjoor Nagar Srinagar, and Imran Ahmad Shah, son of Ghulam Mohammad Shah, a resident of Mangan Wachi Kanipora Srinagar. Both were arrested on the spot, and the vehicle used in the commission of the crime was seized.
A case under FIR No. 15/2025 has been registered at Police Station Charar-i-Sharief under relevant sections of the law, and further investigation has been initiated.
