SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Police have arrested two drug peddlers in Pandithpora village of Handwara and recovered narcotics from their possession.

An official in a statement said that on August 17, 2022, a police party of Police Station Kralgund, during patrolling in Pandithpora area apprehended two persons who had attempted to evade the police party in a suspicious manner.

He said that on search, around 106 grams of charas like substance was recovered from their possession.

He added that the persons have been identified as Tariq Ahmad Moochi son of Mohammad Maqbool Moochi and Abdul Quyoom Mir S/o Gh Nabi Mir both residents of Pandithpora.

“In relation to this, FIR No. 70/2022 U/s 8/20,29 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Kralgund and investigation has been initiated,” said the official.
