SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Police have arrested two drug peddlers in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district and recovered psychotropic substances from their possession.
“A police party of Police Post Wagoora headed by Incharge Police Post Wagoora at a checkpoint established at Wagila Wagoora, intercepted a person identified as Javid Ahmad Dar @ Sahab Dar son of Gh Nabi Dar resident of Wagoora Baramulla. During search, 100 capsules of SpasmoProxyvon was recovered from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to PS Kreeri where he remains in custody,” a police spokesperson said in a statement.
“Similarly, a police party of Police Post Palhallan headed by Incharge PP Palhallan at a checkpoint established at Misra Gali Palhallan, intercepted a person identified as Irfan Maqbool Ganie son of Mohammad Maqbool resident of Ganiepora Buran Pattan. During search, 7 syrups of Codeine Phosphate was recovered from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to PS Pattan where he remains in custody,” the police added.
“Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at Police Station Kreeri and Pattan and investigations have been initiated,” the police added.
