SRINAGAR: Indian Army on Wednesday rescued a team of seven skiers stranded in Pattan area of North Kashmir Baramulla district on Wednesday.

An official said that Army recieved Information about a skiing team of seven individuals including two foreign nationals got stranded due to bad weather after coming down from Sunshine peak.

He said that the SDPO Tangmarg was informed and the rescue party of under Maj Abhay received the information and tried to establish contact with the stranded skiers.

He said tha the rescue team was later able to establish contact with the stranded civilian who are occupying a dhok near Alu post and stayed put for the night as the approach route was not accessible and bad weather was there.

“Army team provided aid, and safely transported them to Banal Company Operating Base (COB), ensuring their well-being,” the official added.
