SRINAGAR : Police have arrested two persons for allegedly abducting and sexually assaulting a Class 7 student in the Mendhar area of Poonch district.
Quoting officials, news agency GNS reported that the girl’s father lodged a complaint at Police Station Gursai, alleging that his minor daughter was abducted and sexually assaulted while she was returning home on September 6.
According to the complaint, the girl had boarded a cab driven by Zahoor Mushtaq alias Sonu, who allegedly took her to his house along with his friend, Mohd Irfan.
Following the complaint, police registered FIR No. 95/2026 at Police Station Gursai under Sections 70(2), 127(3) and 137(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), along with Sections 3 and 4 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
Both accused have been arrested, and further investigation into the case is underway.
