SRINAGAR: Police in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district have apprehended two individuals allegedly involved in gambling at Narayan-Bagh within the jurisdiction of Police Post Shadipora.
The arrested persons were identified as Bilal Ahmad Malik, son of Mohammad Ismail Malik, a resident of Gamwara Wakura, and Manzoor Ahmad Khan, son of Jalal-ud-Din Khan, a resident of Narayan-Bagh. During the operation, police recovered stake money amounting to Rs 3,370 along with a deck of playing cards from the spot.
A case (FIR No. 19/2026) under Section 13 of the Gambling Act has been registered at Police Station Ganderbal, and further investigation is under way.
Police reiterated their commitment to maintaining public order and urged citizens to report any illegal activities in their localities.
