Two persons were injured after armies of India and Pakistan resorted to cross border shelling and firing on the Line of Control (LoC) in Uri sector of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

An official said that the Pakistani army opened fire and used mortar shells on the Indian army’s posts in Uri sector.

He said that the soldiers manning the fence responded strongly. After the brief exchange of fire two civilians were injured when some shells fell in the civilian areas at village Silikote, Uri.

He said that the injured were shifted to hospital for treatment. (UNI)
