SRINAGAR: Two civilians were injured after India and Pakistan armies exchange fire along the LoC in Tangdhar sector of north Kashmir’s  Kupwara district on Wednesday.

An official said that two civilians identified as Sadaqat son of Habib Mirchal and Zamir Ahmad son of Mohammad Abdullah Mughal residents of Semari sustained splinter injuries in the shelling Tangdhar sector.

Both the injured, having multiple splinter injuries, were rushed to the sub-district hospital Tangdhar for the treatment wherefrom they were shifted to Srinagar hospitals for specialised treatment.

The heavy shelling has caused panic in the villages near LoC in Tangdhar sector.

“Pakistan initiated an Unprovoked Ceasefire Violation (CFV) along the LoC in Tangdhar Sector, Kupwara, North #Kashmir on 08 Jul 2020 in the afternoon hours by firing Mortars and other weapons. Befitting response is being given. Two civilians injured,” Chinar Corps tweeted.
