SRINAGAR: Two militants killed in a gunfight with the counter-insurgent forces at Bomai area in Sopore town of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district were affiliated with the Jaish-e-Mohammed outfit, an official said.

An official said that all the slain militants were identified as Mohammad Rafi of Sopore and Kaiser Ashraf of Pulwama.

He said that they were involved in several crime cases and Danish was involved in the recruitment of youth into militant ranks in Shopian.

He said that Rafi was earlier booked under PSA twice and both were involved in several crime cases.

He added that as per input they were planning to attack civilians in Sopore area.

Earlier, police had said that two militants were killed and a civilian was injured in the encounter at Bomai area of Sopore town.
