SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir School Education Department has nominated five officers as Central Public Information Officers (CPIOs) to deal with applications filed under the Right to Information Act, 2005.
The nominations were notified through Government Order No. 297-JK (Edu) of 2026, issued on July 28, in pursuance of Section 5(1) of the RTI Act. The order supersedes all previous orders on the subject.
Braham Raj, JKAS, Deputy Secretary to the Government, has been designated as CPIO for the E-III section, while Deputy Director (Planning) Mohd Ismail has been assigned the Planning section.
Thannaji Bhat, Under Secretary to the Government, will handle the E-I section as CPIO. Deepika Sharma, JKAS, Under Secretary to the Government, has been assigned E-II and Accounts.
Mohan Singh, Under Secretary to the Government, has been designated CPIO for E-IV and Legal sections.
The nominated officers will be responsible for disposing of RTI applications relating to their respective sections under the provisions of the RTI Act, the order said.
