SRINAGAR: Two persons were killed after their JCB machine came under heavy landslide in Simbol Kushal area falling under Chatroo Police Station here.
The locals and the police quickly joined forces to carry out a rescue operation. They managed to recover both trapped individuals, but sadly, Abid Hussain, son of Noor Husain from Kuchal, could not survive his injuries.
The other person, Musharraf, son of Mohd Akbar from Kuchal, was rushed to District Hospital Kishtwar with serious injuries. However, despite efforts by the attending doctors, he also passed away.
After conducting postmortem examinations and fulfilling legal requirements, the bodies of the deceased were handed over to their respective families for the last rites.
The police have initiated an investigation into the matter.
