SRINAGAR: Two labourers died while two were rescued after slipping and falling into a trench in the Chakpora area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam on Friday, officials said.
An official said that they were working in the trench when they suddenly slipped and fell into it. “Soon after the incident, police and locals rushed to the spot and rescued them,” he said.
The official said they were shifted to a hospital, where two of them died. The deceased have been identified as Maqbool Dar of Kulgam and Aziz ur Rehman of Bengal.
Medical Superintendent Gulzar Ahmad Dar of District Hospital Kulgam reported that two individuals were pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital, with one currently receiving treatment and another already discharged. (KNO)
