KULGAM: Two medical shops in the main Kulgam town were shut down by Drug Control Authorities for not maintaining proper sale records of Scheduled H1 Drugs along with the absence of a registered pharmacist.

Officials said that in the last few months almost 12 other medical shops have been found violating norms and other rules in the district for which show cause notices have been issued and even licenses have been suspended.

“There is a strict message from the Drug Regulatory Authority for observing the norms of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act with respect to safe dispensing practices and maintenance of sale/purchase records of Scheduled and habit-forming drugs,” the officials said.
