SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday claimed to have arrested two militant associates linked with proscribed outfit Jaish-e-Muhammad in Pulwama and recovered incriminating materials including ammunition from their possession.

A police spokesman in a statement said that on specific information about the movements of ANEs Police Pulwama with the assistance of  55 RR and 182 Bn CRPF  arrested two militant associates of proscribed outfit Jaish -i- Mohmmad involved in providing shelter, logistics and other support to the militants as well as in transporting of arms/ ammunition and explosive material for the terrorists in  Awantipora and Tral areas.

The spokesman in a statement said that the arrested militant associates were in touch with JeM commanders and were involved in the transportation of arms/ammunition and were providing other logistic support to strengthen the militant network.

“The arrested associates have been identified as Umer Ramzan son of M Ramzan Wani a resident of Brawbandina and Javid Ahmad Mala son of Ali Mohammad a resident of Khelan,” he said, adding that indiscriminate material of proscribed outfit JeM has been recovered from them.

“Case under relevant sections of law stands registered against them in Police Station Litter,” said the spokesman.
