SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday claimed to have arrested two militant associates and recovered huge quantity of narcotics from their possession.

A police spokesman identified them as Manzoor Ahmad Lone son of Gh Mohd Lone and Ghulam Mohammad Lone son of Abdul Rahim Lone, both residents of Lachipora Bijhama Baramulla.

He said, “Narcotics weighing 13.5 Kg estimated as worth Rs 65-crores and arms and ammunition including Pistol 02 No’s, Pistol Mgs 04 No’s, Pistol Rounds 55 No’s, Hand grenades 04 No’s, Detonators 10 No’s have been recovered from their possession.”

“All the recovered materials have been taken into case records for further investigation and to probe their role and complicity in other crimes,” said the spokesman.

“The module was in close connection with Pakistan based militant handlers. The above recoveries yet again exposed the nexus between drug dealers and militants,” he said.

“A case FIR No. 51/2020 under relevant sections of law stands registered in Police Station Kralpora Kupwara and further investigation into the case has been initiated,” said a police spokesman in a statement.
