SRINAGAR: Continuing its crackdown against anti-national elements, Sopore Police booked two militant associates, Ikhlaq Imtiyaz Sheikh, resident of Watergam, Rafiabad, and Irfan Farooq Zargar, resident of Soin Sadnar, Rafiabad, under the Public Safety Act.
They were apprehended following formal detention orders from the competent authority and subsequently transferred to District Jail Kupwara and District Jail Anantnag.
“These individuals have a documented history of involvement in anti-national activities, as indicated by multiple FIRs lodged against them. This measure has been implemented to prevent them from perpetuating activities detrimental to the state’s security.” a police spokesperson said in a statement.
