Two militants have been killed in an encounter with government forces in Drusoo village of Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

Taking to social networking site twitter police chief wrote: “ Two bodies of terrorists recovered from encounter site in Sopore, operation concluded.”

Earlier a gunfight broke out between the militants and government forces after cordon and search operation was launched in the area.

The gunfight had started after contact was established with militants during a cordon and search operation (CASO) launched late last night.

Meanwhile, sources identified both the slain militants as Reyaz Ahmad of Naseerabad Sopore and Khursheed Ahmad Malik (B. Tech student) son of Ghulam Nabi Malik of Arabal Nikas, Pulwama who was missing since Tuesday morning.
